Community Focused and Action Oriented!

The Community Service Committee is dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities through various service projects and partnerships. Our mission is to foster a culture of giving back and encourage our members to actively participate in community service initiatives. This allows our members valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, build partnerships, and serve others. As women leaders, we are empowered to drive positive change across the communities we serve. Our goal is to continually strive to be a community-focused and action-oriented organization for and within our community.

Susan G. Komen Big Pink Gala (March 2026): Members of the EWTG Community Service Committee proudly volunteered at the Susan G. Komen Big Pink Gala, an annual event supporting the fight against breast cancer. The gala brought together survivors, advocates, and supporters from across Texas to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, treatment, and education. EWTG volunteers assisted with a variety of tasks throughout the evening—from welcoming guests and managing check-ins to supporting auction activities and helping with event logistics. Their warm smiles and can-do spirit ensured the event ran smoothly and left a lasting impression on attendees.

Susan G. Komen Big Pink Gala (April 2025): Members of the EWTG Community Service Committee proudly volunteered at the Susan G. Komen Big Pink Gala, an annual event supporting the fight against breast cancer. The gala brought together survivors, advocates, and supporters from across Texas to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, treatment, and education. EWTG volunteers assisted with a variety of tasks throughout the evening—from welcoming guests and managing check-ins to supporting auction activities and helping with event logistics. Central Texas Food Bank Mobile Pantry (May 2025): Ten members and supporters of the EWTG Community Service Committee volunteered at the Central Texas Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry event held at Del Valle High School. This initiative was part of the food bank's ongoing efforts to combat food insecurity in the region. The event was a drive-thru distribution, allowing families to receive pre-packed groceries directly into their vehicles. Volunteers assisted with sorting food, assembling packages, and loading them into cars, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. EWTG volunteers found the experience both rewarding and enjoyable. It provided an opportunity to work together, build camaraderie, and contribute to a meaningful cause. The success of the event highlighted the impact of collective action in addressing community needs.
Any Baby Can Backpack Drive (July and August 2025): Committee members had a goal at the beginning of the summer to collect a total of 50 back-to-school backpacks to donate to Any Baby Can. This amazing group of members and participating agencies collected a total of 133 backpacks full of school supplies!
Toiletry Collection for Safe Alliance (all year): The Community Service Committee and EWTG members collected toiletries all year long and brought them to the annual conference. A table was set up at the conference to collect additional items from attendees. After the conference, committee members delivered the toiletries to Safe Alliance in December.
